Ishan Kishan got a warning from Saba Karim

Ishan Kishan

The young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has seen both ups and downs within a short span of just two months. In December 2022, Kishan smashed his first ODI double ton, against Bangladesh. The cricketing world got a clear sketch of the aggressive Ishan Kishan. However, after that, Kishan hasn’t been successful to carry on that marvelous form to the next matches. The left-hander managed to score just 30 runs in the bilateral series (ODI) against New Zealand. Saba Karim, the former Indian selector gave some harsh comments about the young Ishan Kishan for being unsuccessful to score big as well in the T20I series.

While speaking about Kishan on the show of India News, Saba Karim said,

“This is not the first time with Ishan Kishan. He had scored a lot of runs ahead of the 2021 T20 World Cup. He failed to deliver in the tournament. That’s why he keeps getting in and out of the team. To cement a place, you need to keep scoring.”

Saba Karim further added,

“He needs to work on temperament, shot selection and approach. What is the reason that you can play only one big innings in six months and then don’t score? If you have the potential, you’re getting opportunities to prove it. You have to deliver.”

Bharat over Ishan Kishan in playing XI

Kishan got his call for the Border Gavaskar Test series that will be played against Australia. Kishan got the chance in place of Rishabh Pant, who unfortunately suffered an injury due to a road accident. However, there is hardly any chance for Kishan to be a part of the playing XI. KS Bharat has been named as the first-choice wicket-keeper in absence of Rishabh Pant. This, Bharat, is expected to feature at least in the first two test matches.

Nagpur’s Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium will host the first Test of the Border Gavaskar trophy, on and from February 9.
