As per the latest reports, Ishant Sharma will be available for selection in the Delhi Ranji squad from the second match.
The senior pacer has completed his quarantine period and is all set to play the domestic tournament.
Delhi is currently playing its first match of the tournament with Tamil Nadu. After this, they will play Jharkhand on February 24 and then their last match will be against Chhattisgarh.
Ishant was previously not in favour to play Ranji Trophy.
But after he went unsold in the IPL Mega Auctions, he reversed his decision and decided to join the Delhi squad.
Ishant will not be playing against Sri Lanka at home. In 105 Tests, he has picked up 311 wickets.
BCCI wants to try out new faces rather than seasoned bowlers.
Ishant needs to get his mojo back so as to find favour among selectors.
Even sources from the Delhi camp have stated that Ishant must play Ranji Trophy so as to gain his form and get some much-needed practice.
