Jasprit Bumrah makes a return to the Indian squad for ODI series

Jasprit Bumrah

India’s pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah is all fit and ready to take on the Lankan Lions.

Bumrah has completed his rehabilitation successfully and the NCA has no issues with his playing international cricket.

BCCI has also issued a statement on Bumrah’s full recovery and added him to the ODI squad against Sri Lanka.

The T20I series is well underway from today at Mumbai with the other two games on January 5 and 7.

Hardik Pandya is leading the side for this series while Rohit Sharma will return for the ODI series.

Bumrah has been out of the Indian squad since September 2022 as a result of a back injury.

This has been India’s major blow as they could not take Bumrah for the T20 World Cup 2022 and he missed the entire Bangladesh series as well.

So, now if Bumrah performs well in the ODI series, he will then be picked for the four-match Test series against Australia.

Bumrah’s return is a happy piece of news for Indian fans

Bumrah was last seen in action against Australia in a home series in September 2022 and now his return to the ODI squad is a happy one for the Indian team.

He will be monitored by the BCCI during the ODI series as the team management would not like to burden Bumrah with too much workload at the moment.

The team management will also like to keep Bumrah fit for upcoming games as he is an essential part of the team.
