Reliance-owned JioCinema has offered to stream the next edition of the Indian Premier League or IPL for free.

This news comes after their successful broadcasting of FIFA World Cup 2022 on its app to thousands of viewers in India and around the world.

They now want to extend their reach even further in live sports streaming as they are planning to show the Indian T20 League on their app for no fees.

Along with JioCinema, Sports18 also broadcasted the matches of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The broadcasting of IPL 2023 is to be free as per Reliance

According to the latest reports, Viacom18 which is owned by Reliance has already purchased the broadcasting rights of IPL from seasons 2023 through to 2027 for a huge sum of INR 23,758 crores.

That is why they are planning to stream the IPL virtually for no fee and have already started making up their strategies.

The plan is to beat Disney+Hotstar who holds the DTH rights of the league.

Additionally, Reliance may also offer some products for free to get some market share.

Looking at the hype, this year’s season of the IPL is going to be better than ever before. Moreover, there are going to be some exciting match-ups between different players.

All 10 teams will be playing 18 games each and the tournament is returning to its original format which will span over 75 days.

Moreover, all the teams have to play two games each: one at home and one away.

This is also going to be the sixteenth season of the IPL which started way back in 2008.

Recently, on 23rd December 2022, Kochi played host to the mini-auction of the IPL and the tournament now features 10 teams.

Last time around, teams were split up into two groups, but this year the format is going to revert back to the original.

Meanwhile, the schedule for the upcoming season isn’t out yet.
