Jos Buttler

Due to an injury on his left hand’s little finger, Jos Buttler may miss Rajasthan Royals’ next game against Delhi Capitals. He required multiple stitches on his finger during the match against Punjab Kings. He didn’t even come to bat in his usual opening position. In his absence, Ashwin was promoted up in the order but got out in the fourth over of the innings.

Later, Buttler came to bat at number three. He hit a boundary and a six before getting dismissed by Nathan Ellis in the last over of the powerplay. Buttler won the best catch award but was seen with a white strapping on his finger. A report from The Times of India suggests that he may not recover in just 72 hours, leading to the possibility of him being rested for the upcoming game against Delhi Capitals.

Punjab Kings secured their second consecutive victory in the IPL 2023 after defeating Rajasthan Royals by five runs. The team’s captain, Shikhar Dhawan, displayed an impressive performance with the bat. While Nathan Ellis excelled in the bowling department by claiming four wickets and causing significant damage to RR’s batting unit.

Despite their success, Dhawan revealed that there were some anxious moments, particularly towards the end of the match when Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer were batting well. Dhawan commended the efforts of his bowlers and acknowledged the challenging conditions due to the dew factor. He was content with the score that his team achieved and appreciated the excellent execution of yorkers by his bowlers.

“Scoring 197 and then my bowlers coming and getting early wickets and keeping the pressure on and then Nathan came on and got wickets. We never let the game get out of our hands. There were some moments that were hard but I think it was a great team effort,”

Dhawan added.
