India took a lot of wickets in the middle overs when the duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal were playing together. Former Cricketer Mohammad Kaif talked about the possible inclusion of both players in the team to get better results.
The opposition was often clueless when both the legspinners bowled in tandem. However in recent times, due to loss of form and different team combinations, the due could not play together.
Kaif while talking in a pre-match show hosted by Star Sports named ‘Match Point.’ He said that the inclusion of Washington Sundar provided flexibility to the squad and that provides the team with an opportunity to play him at 7. This will help ‘KulCha’ play together with 3 other quicks.
Washington Sundar has shown his credentials with the bat since the start of the year. Sundar has added a variety of strokes in his armory and has improved with power hitting. He is making himself more equipped for the shorter formats of the game.
Kaif praised Sundar
Talking about the possibility of playing 3 quicks and 3 spinners, Mohammad Kaif said, “Absolutely, you can do three and three. It is definitely on because they are quality bowlers. Kuldeep and Chahal bring with them a lot of experience. The guy who comes to bat at No. 7 is an all-rounder.”
“With Washington Sundar being there, you can play around because you have got a batter at No. 7. You need batting till No. 7 only in T20 cricket because the No. 8 does not get to bat. So you have a solid batter at No. 7,” Kaif further added.
