Kapil Dev gives a shocking note to Pant for being reckless

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant, India wicketkeeper-batter is undergoing his recovery process after a violent car accident last year.

Many of his fans and people from the cricket fraternity are wishing him a speedy recovery.

Pant has successfully undergone surgery for his torn ligament the third surgery of which will be performed in six weeks’ time.

But, now this accident has made him unavailable for a year from the world of cricket for India which is affecting team combinations.

If Pant gets discharged early from the hospital, it will take him another six months of rehab.

Already the Indian team is feeling the absence of Pant in cricket, but now with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting today, this absence is pricking more.

With Pant not available, it is going to be interesting to watch how India will manage without him throughout this series.

Furthermore, Pant has already become somewhat of a legend in Test cricket with his aggressive batting style.

Former India skipper and World Cup winner, Kapil Dev is not happy with the condition that Pant has put himself in and is angry with the youngster.

He has stated that he wants to slap Pant for jeopardizing India’s team combinations and also for driving so recklessly.

Kapil Dev says that Pant should have been more careful

Says Kapil,

I love him very much. I want him to get well and when he gets well. If you go, I will go and slap you hard, because take care of yourself. Look, your injury has spoiled the combination of the whole team. That’s why there is love and affection that you get well soon. Then there is also anger that such mistakes today’s youth. Why do boys do it? There should be a slap for that too.

India is looking for alternatives to Pant in the middle order. They need a player who can play the role of wicketkeeper and batsman both of Pant’s caliber.

That’s why India will have to play two different players Suryakumar Yadav and KS Bharat who will be the batting and wicketkeeping asset in Pant’s absence.

Surya has grabbed everyone’s eyeballs when it comes to T20Is but how he performs in Tests is yet to be seen.
