Karun Nair got his call in Lucknow Supergiants in place of injured KL Rahul

Lokesh Rahul will not be able to play in IPL this time. He himself said on Friday. After that, Lucknow Supergiants announced the name of Karun Nair instead of Rahul. Lucknow relied on Nair, who failed in one IPL after another and went unsold at the auction.

Nair tweeted in December 2022. “Dear cricket, give me one more chance,” he wrote. And Nair finally got that opportunity. Nair’s tweet from Lucknow informed that he has been included in the team. Rahul was injured on May 1 while playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was injured while fielding. After that he came down to bat, but could not run. It was then that it was feared that his injury was serious. On Friday, Rahul said that he will not be able to play in the IPL, nor will he be able to play in the World Test Championship.

Karun Nair has played 76 matches in IPL so far. Scored 1496 runs. Last time he was in the Rajasthan Royals team. Nair has played only eight matches in the last four years in the IPL. He scored only 37 runs. Played for Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan in IPL. Nair, 31, has played six Tests and two ODIs for India. He also had an innings of 300 runs in Tests.

Rahul wrote on social media on Friday,

“As the captain of Lucknow, I feel bad that I cannot be with the team at such an important time. But I have confidence in this team. They will give their best. I will be cheering for them from the sidelines.”
