Kolkata Knight Riders are going to play their sixth match in IPL this time against Delhi Capitals. But KKR still struggles to find the perfect opening pair their team. Kolkata Knight Riders’s opening pair failed in all six matches. Whoever came out to bat, could not get a respectable run in the wicket. And this problem of opening is drowning the KKR.

KKR chose Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mandeep Singh as their opening pair in the first match against Punjab Kings. They scored only 13 runs for the first wicket. The pair changed against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Venkatesh Iyer came to open with Gurbaz. They scored 26 runs for the first wicket.

KKR changed their opening pair again in the third match against Gujarat Titans. This time Narayan Jagadeesan became Gurbaz’s partner. They scored 11 runs for the first wicket. In the next two matches, KKR senr Gurbaj-Jagdeeshan duo against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians. They got 0 against Hyderabad and 20 against Mumbai for the first wicket.

KKR changed their opening pair totally against DC, yet struggles as Liton Das departs early

Kolkata changed the entire opening pair against Delhi Capitals as the opening pair failed in succession. Jason Roy and Liton Das came to open this time. Even though the couple has changed, the picture has not changed. KKR managed only 15 runs in the opening pair against Delhi too.

As the opening pair failed, KKR is under tremendous pressure at the beginning. Losing wickets in the power play is reducing their run rate. As a result, they are not able to score more runs in the coming over. KKR is number eight in the points table after winning only 2 of 5 matches. Now let’s see whether the picture remains the same in match number seven.
