The schedule for IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders or KKR has been announced by the BCCI and the IPL.
They will be playing their first game against the Punjab Kings at Mohali the next day after CSK vs GT game.
Additionally, KKR have a great variety of players for this year’s tournament and will be hoping to lift the trophy once more.
Last year, KKR didn’t have a great campaign as they finished seventh on the points table, winning six out of the 14 group games.
Furthermore, this year, all ten teams have their designated home venues assigned to them. This has happened for the first time since IPL 2019.
The responsibility of leading the franchise last season was on Shreyas Iyer who skippered the side for the very first time.
He scored 401 runs while Andre Russell took 17 wickets. But, this effort was not enough to give them a place in the top four.
Ahead of the 2023 season, KKR have released a plethora of players and Pat Cummins and Sam Billings have made themselves unavailable for this season.
In the mini-auction at Kochi, Kolkata Knight Riders had a pretty average outing.
However, they have picked up the likes of Narayan Jagadeesan, Lockie Ferguson, Shardul Thakur, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Shakib Al Hasan, David Wiese and Litton Das to their squad.
They now look a pretty formidable squad for the new season of the IPL.
