Who are the best IPL cricketers of all time? Virat Kohli chose the best of various categories of IPL. He however, did not put himself on the list consciously. Kohli discarded names like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma as well but not AB.

In an interview, Kohli was asked to choose the best cricketers of IPL. Along with Dhoni, Rohit, he did not took Jasprit Bumrah, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo’s name too for that list. The former Indian captain was asked, the best cricketer of all time in IPL? Kohli chose two- one batter and one bowler. Virat chose his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate AB de Villiers as the best batter and the Sri Lankan great Lasith Malinga as the best bowler of all time.

AB de Villiers is a close friend of Kohli. He played 184 matches in IPL and scored 5162 runs. His average is 39.71. Strike rate has been 151.69. Kohli called de Villiers ad the best finisher of the competition. On the other hand, Malinga played 122 matches and took 170 wickets in IPL. The former Sri Lankan fast bowler had a gread economy of 7.14 runs throughout his IPL career.

Kohli has placed several other people in the list of all-time greats in IPL from various categories. According to him, Shane Watson is the best all-rounder of IPL ever. He took Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan’s name as the best spinner of all time. However, Kohli thinks, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Sunil Narine will be very close to Rashid in this fight. Kohli named one more person in the team. He is Ambati Rayudu. Kohli named Rayudu as of the important yet an underrated cricketer according to his merit.

He also chose his favorite opponent. Kohli loves to play against Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in IPL. As the reason, he said, “Chennai has a lot of supporters. Always supports the team. It’s great to play with them.
