Major boost for team India ahead of ODI series against Sri Lanka

Bumrah

After being ruled out of cricket since September 2022, Jasprit Bumrah is set to return to the ODI squad for the Sri Lanka series. The pacer is declared fit and is a major boost for the team ahead of the World Cup year.

The fast bowler was in the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehabilitation. The Board of Cricket Control in India declared him fit and was thus added to the ODI squad.

Bumrah’s final game came against Australia in a home T20I series in September 2022, which was his last appearance. However, his injury dealt India a serious blow because the speedster couldn’t play in the T20 World Cup in 2022. Bumrah was not included in the team when India played Bangladesh in three one-day internationals and two tests.

The ODI series will begin from 10 January, with 3 ODIs to be played. Senior players in Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah returning to the side is a major plus for India.
