Massive list of 405 players for the IPL mini-auction

Indian Premier League

Kochi will be lit up with the IPL mini-auction buzz on the 23rd of December as 405 players will go under the hammer.

This is going to be the 16th edition of the IPL auction and the BCCI is prouder than ever.

After a scintillating 2022 season, many franchises have released some great players from their squads.

All the franchises are now looking for players who can battle out any opponent on any condition.

Gujarat Titans are the defending champions and they have already released Lockie Ferguson for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Similarly, Sunrisers Hyderabad has released as many as 13 players including their skipper Kane Williamson while Punjab Kings have released their skipper Mayank Agarwal ahead of the upcoming season.

Seasoned T20 legends like Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo have bid adieu to the IPL.

Agarwal is one of the highest run-scorers when it comes to the IPL.

That’s why it might be a ‘mini-auction’, but all the franchises can pull out some bold moves when the auction starts on 23rd December.

Number of Players Registered for the IPL Mini-Auction

In the initial list, the total number of players registered was 991.

Out of these 991, a total of 405 players were shortlisted to go under the hammer in which there are 273 Indian players and 132 overseas players.

Some of the overseas players that can grab the eyeballs of the franchises are Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, Adil Rashid, Rilee Rossouw, and Nicholas Pooran.

Because of the number of player releases before the auction, franchises have a lot of money left in their purses.

The franchise with the highest amount of money is Sunrisers Hyderabad who have INR 42.25 crores while Kolkata Knight Riders have the lowest amount of money which is INR 7.05 crores.

Thus, it will be a great treat to watch this mini-auction to know which player goes to which franchise.
