Maxwell sends early birthday wishes to Virat Kohli

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Today is Virat Kohli’s birthday and everyone from fans to other Indian team players will be wishing the former India captain.

There was one special person though who decided to wish Kohli yesterday and it was Glenn Maxwell.

Both Maxwell and Kohli are Royal Challengers Bangalore teammates.

And Maxwell did this on live TV while being interviewed by Neroli Meadows.

Australia is almost out of the race for the semis but if Sri Lanka beat England in the last Group 1 match today, then Australia will surge ahead.

If not, then it will be all over for the hosts. That’s why Australia is banking its hopes on Sri Lanka.

Says Maxwell,

Yeah, so tomorrow, I just want to wish a very happy birthday to one of my very good friends, Virat Kohli. Hope you have a great day. I’ll send you a text anyway. Enjoy mate.

In yesterday’s game, Maxwell was given the Player of the Match for his 54 not out off 32 balls.

Maxwell was all praises for Afghanistan and commented upon their way of batting in the second innings.

There was some massive hitting done by the Afghanis toward the end of the innings however, they lost the game by 4 runs.

Adding further, Maxwell said,

It was nice to have an impact in the field. I knew I wasn’t going to have much of an impact with the ball with the conditions they were. To have an impact is nice. During the day, it was quite slow and taking spin, it was holding up a little bit.

If England wins against Sri Lanka today, they will join New Zealand in the semi-finals but if they lose, Australia will go through with New Zealand.

That’s why today’s Group 1 match is an all-important one for the Aussies.
