India’s Mohammad Siraj has broken into the top position of ICC’s ODI Men’s bowler’s list as he grabs the numero uno spot.

Siraj is having a great purple patch for India since the home series against Sri Lanka. In that series, he picked up 9 wickets from three matches to move up to no.3.

Now, in the ODI series against New Zealand at home, Siraj has done remarkably well. In the two matches that he played, he took an overall of five wickets in both.

India has won this series 3-0 and will now look to clean-sweep New Zealand in the upcoming T20I series.

Previously to remain no.1 in ODI bowler’s rankings have been Kapil Dev, Maninder Singh, Anil Kumble, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah.

On the other hand, Siraj’s new-ball partner in the New Zealand series, Mohammed Shami has also advanced in the bowler’s rankings.

He has climbed 11 places to 32nd position after taking four wickets from two matches.

Similarly, Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur have also advanced following good performances.

Both got six wickets each in the series. Yadav is now placed 19th from 21st while Shardul is 35th after progressing from five places.

Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma also gain good positions

On the other hand, India’s batting unit has also got some advantageous positions in the rankings.

Young batter Shubman Gill has broken into the top 10 ODI batters for the first time.

His Player of the Series for scoring 360 runs that includes a ton and a double ton has lifted him 20 spots up to the sixth position.

Also, he is the leading India batter on this list and is just one slot above Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, skipper Rohit Sharma with 186 runs in three matches has moved up to the eighth position.

Additionally, Hardik Pandya has also gained in all three ICC lists.

In the batting list, he is 75th, while he has reached the 80th position in the bowler’s list and finally he is 17th in the all-rounders’ list.

New Zealand, Ireland, and Zimbabwe players also get rewarded for performances

New Zealand’s Devon Conway and Michael Bracewell have improved their positions in the ICC rankings.

While Conway has moved to 37th from 50th, Bracewell has moved to 85th position in the batter’s rankings.

In other news, the ODI series between Ireland and Zimbabwe finished at 1-1 last week.

Ireland’s Harry Tector has advanced to the 13th position after scoring 176 runs in this series.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza is now occupying the 31st position in the batter’s list.
