Former India player and skipper, and now CSK skipper, MS Dhoni has always been a charismatic figure on and off the field. People always throng around him whenever he’s spotted.
Currently, MSD is preparing himself to play for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, or IPL, for the Chennai Super Kings.
While many are touting this season to be Dhoni’s last one with the franchise, Dhoni himself has made no such concrete announcement.
Meanwhile, Dhoni was seen sitting in the newly-constructed India dugout ahead of the 3rd ODI between India and Australia.
On the other hand, the official Twitter handle of the Chennai Super Kings captured this image of Dhoni and wrote the caption,
Main pal do pal ka shayar hoon.
This was the same caption that Dhoni used when announcing his retirement from international cricket in 2020.
Furthermore, rumors are rife about Dhoni’s retirement from the IPL. While he has said that he will be playing all the games for CSK this season, his future with the franchise is yet unknown.
Additionally, it has always been Dhoni’s wish to play in front of the Chennai crowd in his last IPL game as the franchise is loved by the home crowd.
Deepak Chahar clears some air on MS Dhoni’s retirement plans from CSK
Moreover, pacer Deepak Chahar was asked about Dhoni’s retirement from the IPL. He has given an interesting reply to this question.
No one has said that this would be his final year. At least, he hasn’t. Hopefully, he will play more. We don’t know any such thing, we want him to play as much as he can.
Adding further, he says,
He knows when to retire, we saw it when he did in Tests and international cricket. No one else knows. I just hope he continues to play, it’s a privilege to play under him. It has been a dream to play with him. He’s in good touch as well, you will see that when he bats in the IPL this year.
