Mumbai Indians mock RCB after first win in IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

On Tuesday, April 11, Mumbai Indians secured their first win in the current IPL season, beating Delhi Capitals by six wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Rohit Sharma’s 65 off 45 deliveries was instrumental in shaping the fate of the game. While the middle-order struggled, Cameron Green and Tim David guided the team home.

After their victory, MI took a sly dig at RCB on social media, responding to the criticism from RCB supporters at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Despite failing to contribute significantly against RCB, Rohit’s excellent performance against DC earned him his 19th Player of the Match award, the most by an Indian in IPL history.

Mumbai handed Delhi their 4th consecutive defeat

Delhi Capitals are struggling in the ongoing IPL 2023 as they faced their fourth consecutive defeat in the league. Currently positioned at the bottom of the IPL Points table, they are in a tough spot. Even though David Warner scored a half-century, his strike rate remained a significant concern.

The middle-order batters have not lived up to expectations, while the bowlers need to improve. However, Axar Patel’s impressive form with the bat is a significant positive for the side. Up next, Delhi will travel to Bengaluru to play against Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have won only one game so far in the competition.

After losing their initial matches, Mumbai Indians registered their first victory of the IPL 2023 tournament. The skipper, Rohit Sharma, played an important role in their victory by scoring a brisk half-century. The young batting sensation, Tilak Varma, also contributed to the win before the team lost a few wickets towards the end of the match. Suryakumar Yadav’s batting form, however, remains a cause for concern as he was dismissed for a golden duck, his fourth in six innings. The team will now face Kolkata Knight Riders in their next match at home.
