It was a day full of milestone moments for the Australian team against the West Indies today.

The first of these was achieved by none other than Nathan Lyon who went past Dale Steyn’s 439 Test scalps.

Lyon now has 440 Test wickets and is now sitting at the ninth position in the all-time Test wicket-takers list.

For his 440th wicket, Lyon trapped Jason Holder before which he got the wicket of Kemar Roach.

Lyon may also surpass India’s Ravichandran Ashwin if he gets three more wickets in the ongoing Test match.

Ashwin will be seen in action against Bangladesh in the first Test match in just 2 days’ time.

Another bowler made it to the bowling charts for Australia today against the West Indies.

He is now the 19th Aussie bowler to pick up 200 Test wickets. He got to this milestone by taking the prized scalp of Kraigg Brathwaite that started the fall for the Windies.

West Indies ultimately folded up their innings for 283 runs. Tagenarine Chanderpaul, the debutant for West Indies scored his maiden fifty before Josh Hazelwood got the better of him.

Other batters like Jermaine Blackwood, Holder, and Shamarh Brooks failed to convert their starts into big scores.

Australia’s bowlers looked pretty dangerous with the second new ball that took six of the Windies’ wickets.

Although the Aussies could have enforced a follow-on with a hefty lead of 315 runs, they decided to bat once again.

In the second innings, Khawaja failed to fire with the bat but David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne are still strong at the crease.

Australia ended the day with 29/1 and extended their lead to 344 runs.
