Rahul Dravid congratulates Australia for win in WTC against India

Rahul Dravid

India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid has congratulated Australia for winning the Test mace after a dominant outing in the WTC.

Yesterday, India lost to the Aussies by a margin of 209 runs and was once again devoid of winning an ICC title.

Meanwhile, Australia not only got to touch the prestigious mace, but they are now the first side to win ICC trophies in all formats of the game.

Moreover, after the massive loss to Australia, Dravid has been quite ballistic on his team and has stated that he is never going to be satisfied.

Furthermore, Dravid has also stated that with the packed schedule, his side didn’t get enough time to prepare sufficiently for the marquee event.

I’m never going to be happy with the preparations as a coach. But that’s the reality I’m ready to accept, and we all have to accept. The schedules are so cramped and tight. These guys know… if you’re playing international cricket, and if you’re here 3 weeks before the tour, playing two side-games, you are going to be better prepared.

Adding further, he says,

But we don’t have that. The situation doesn’t allow it. We have to make do with what we can. No excuses, no complaints, I just want to congratulate Australia on winning the final, they played better than us on all five days. We just need to look at ourselves, see how we can get better, and what we can improve on.

India will look to break their jinx in the ODI World Cup; Dravid will be at the helm

Meanwhile, Australia remained dominant in the WTC final as they piled up a huge score of 444 runs and asked India to chase it down.

While India did get a good start from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, the regular loss of wickets threw India out of contention.

Dravid has shown much disappointment after his side’s loss to Australia in this fashion.

Therefore, the Men in Blue will now look to build up a strong core team for the upcoming ODI World Cup that can help them bring the cup home and break the jinx.
