Rahul Dravid lauds Rohit Sharma’s determination

Rahul Dravid

India head coach Rahul Dravid praised skipper Rohit Sharma for playing in the second ODI against Bangladesh despite a severe injury.

Rohit suffered a severe dislocation of his thumb during the first innings of the match.

He was back at the stadium with a taped thumb and made a surprising comeback in the second innings.

Dravid is all praises for Sharma’s determination to give it a go for his country and to take India close to the target.

Said Dravid after the game,

He had to go to the hospital. There was a serious dislocation in his hand. He had to get it set at the hospital, take a couple of injections and then get back to the field. Credit to him, he was very determined to have a go out and take a chance. It was amazing how close he got us.

In his innings, Sharma hit 5 sixes and 3 fours along with Mohammad Siraj at the other end.

Dravid has also confirmed the news of Rohit traveling back to Mumbai and there is a high possibility that he may not be available for the Test series.

We are struggling with a few injuries as well. Not ideal. Kuldeep, Deepak and Rohit will certainly miss the next game, fly back to Bombay, consulting with an expert. Whether he will return for the Test series or not, I am not sure. It’s too early to say.
