Vaughan expressed his anticipation for the start of the tournament and revealed his forecast that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) would be the champions this season.

In the previous year’s IPL, RR was defeated by the Gujarat Titans in the final. Taking to Twitter, Vaughan announced his prediction about the winner of the upcoming IPL season. He tweeted, “I think it’s going to be @rajasthanroyals year.. they will be surely lifting the trophy in late May .. #OnOn #IPL2023.”

Rajasthan Royals will play SRH in their IPL 2023 opener

Sanju Samson, a Kerala-born cricketer, led Rajasthan Royals to a strong finish in the 2022 IPL season. The team won nine of their 14 league stage matches and finished second in the points table. They entered the final after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second qualifier. Although, Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya defeated them in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium.

This year, Rajasthan Royals have set their sights on winning their second IPL title. The team has added some valuable players to their squad. These players include Jason Holder (INR 5.75 crore), Adam Zampa (INR 1.5 crore), and Joe Root (INR 1 crore), through the IPL Auction last year. The team’s first match will be against the 2016 champions Hyderabad (SRH) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 2.

It is worth noting that Barsapara Stadium in Assam will be making its IPL debut. It’ll be hosting some matches for the Royals. This season, Rajasthan Royals will be looking to start strong. Therefore, they’ll look to maintain their momentum throughout the tournament to secure a place in the playoffs and eventually lift the IPL trophy.
