Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Ramiz Raja has called for help from various factions to allow India to travel to Pakistan.

India and Pakistan never travel to each other’s countries because of political issues surrounding the two.

Raja says that there is absolutely ‘no reason’ for the players of the two countries to not visit each other.

Pakistan last visited India for the ICC T20 World Cup of 2016 while India’s last visit to Pakistan was for the 2008 Asia Cup.

Now, Pakistan is once again hosting the Asian event for the first time in 15 years in 2023.

But, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has opposed the idea and has declared that India will not travel to Pakistan.

He has further stated that the Asia Cup be moved to a neutral venue.

Says Raja,

Both boards need to come to terms whether we want to play each other or not.

Adding further, he says,

Pakistan is willing, but they quote political interference. You can’t work when there is political interference.

Over Jay Shah’s statement, the PCB has also declared that India’s non-participation in the Asia Cup will also ‘impact’ Pakistan’s participation in the 50-over World Cup in India next year.

India cannot come because the government will not allow them because that has been the stated position, but to take away the Asia Cup away from us is just not right.

Meanwhile, Raja is happy that Pakistan is finally hosting England after a gap of 17 years.

England canceled their tour of Pakistan in 2009 when gunmen attacked the Sri Lankan team bus that had come on a tour of Pakistan.

Hosting England is a very proud, a very proud moment indeed, for all the fans also.
