India’s U19 World Cup-winning captain, Yash Dhull made a mark for himself in his first-class debut for Delhi.

He made 113 off 150 balls and put up great partnerships with his fellow batters.

He was opening the batting for Delhi against Tamil Nadu.

After Vijay Shankar won the toss and elected to field first, Delhi were in a bit of a wobble after Dhull lost his teammates, Dhruv Shorey and Himmat Singh to Sandeep Warrier.

But he stood undeterred and smashed 18 boundaries and also made two crucial partnerships with Nitish Rana and Jonty Sidhu.

M Mohammed cleaned up Dhull.

Yash Dhull was one of the shining stars in India’s fifth U19 World Cup win this year. He smashed 229 runs in just four innings with an average of 76.33.

Dhull missed matches against Uganda and Ireland due to COVID-19.

But he made a strong comeback after his recovery and smashed a run-a-ball 110 against Australia in the semi-finals.

In the final, he only managed to make 17 runs but ably supported his vice-captain Shaik Rasheed and India chased down 190 comfortably.

Hrishikesh Kanitkar too praised him and said that he had done well and led the team excellently throughout the tournament.

Recently, Dhull was also signed up by the Delhi Capitals in the Mega Auctions.

His other teammates who got call-ups to the IPL are Raj Angad Bawa, Vicky Ostwal and Rajvardhan Hangargekar.
