Pakistan’s former skipper, Rashid Latif during a discussion on a chat show stated that India will dominate the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

According to Latif, the curators will be creating turning tracks that will help the Indian spinners to come out on top in all four matches.

Latif also believes that while the competition between these two sides will be pretty high, India will be able to dominate Australia at home.

Currently, India is second in the World Test Championship points table but has a great chance to qualify for the final.

If India beats Australia by a margin of two Tests or more, they will automatically qualify for the WTC final in June.

England is the venue for the WTC final in June this year.

Says Latif on a YouTube channel,

I feel India will prepare turning wickets because they have to reach the World Test Championship (WTC) final. There is tough competition, but I feel India will dominate the series.

Latif gives his analysis of India’s batting order

On the other hand, Latif has also given his assessment of how the Indian Test batting unit looks for the series.

He feels that the side is pretty much balanced despite a few injuries and struggling forms.

Skipper Rohit Sharma has not played Test cricket for a long time now and KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are struggling to get going in the longest format.

Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are not part of the first Test due to injuries.

Thus, even with so many problems, Latif feels India is looking pretty good ahead of the series.

The Indian team looks more balanced. Rohit Sharma has not played a lot of Test matches against Australia while batting at the top of the order. Shubman Gill is in form, Virat Kohli is there. So their team is really good.
