Ravindra Jadeja happy to don the Indian jersey after five months

Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja, India’s veteran spinner has successfully made a comeback to the Indian Test side for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The 34-year-old underwent knee surgery and had to sit out the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.

Moreover, the BCCI has made him play a Ranji Trophy game to prove match fitness.

Jadeja then went and played for his state Saurashtra where he claimed a seven-wicket haul against Tamil Nadu.

Moreover, Jadeja has been out of the Indian side for nearly five months now.

In a recent video released on BCCI.tv, Jadeja has opened up about his surgery and his recovery journey.

Additionally, Jadeja has also talked about how by not opting for knee surgery, he could have put himself in great danger.

This decision has helped Jadeja make a successful comeback to the Indian squad.

Says Jadeja,

I was eagerly waiting to make a comeback and play for India. I had been struggling with my knee for some time, so surgery was needed. I had to take the decision whether to go for the surgery before the World Cup or after.

Jadeja excited to be playing for India once again

Meanwhile, the senior spinner is now clearly very excited to be donning the whites for India in a crucial series.

In the video, he says that it was a grueling process for him during his recovery phase.

Excited that I’m wearing the Indian jersey after more than five months. I have been blessed that I got a chance again. The (recovery) journey was quite up and down because if you stay away from cricket for five months then it is a little bit frustrating.

India and Australia will battle it out to get a spot in the World Test Championship final through this series.
