Star Indian batter, Suryakumar Yadav ‘s rise in T20 cricket over the past year has been majestic. He has recorded nearly 1000 runs in the ongoing calendar year and the year is not yet finished. Following his glorious rise, he climbed to the top of the T20 batters list. Suryakumar Yadav surpassed Mohammad Rizwan and is now ranked number 1 with 863 points.
Suryakumar Yadav got his due a little late, as he made his debut at the age of 30 years. But SKY was the limit for him literally. He is unstoppable right from his debut day. He comes out in a grim situation and pulls out the team in the most difficult circumstances. His consistency and acceleration have been outstanding. Also, his confidence and belief in his abilities have made him fearless against the strongest of opponents.

In a video posted by ICC on Instagram, Suraykumar Yadav is seen giving an insight into his feelings on being ranked numero uno. Surya said that he is delighted and it took a lot of hard work to be able to reach this stage.

The batter further added that maintaining the top position will be much more difficult than what it took to get here. He later assured the fans that he would try his best to stay here as long as possible.
“Reaching here was very difficult, but I think staying here will be more difficult. It will be a challenge, but I will try my best”
Post firey innings against Zimbabwe, Suryakumar Yadav is now just 35 runs away from reaching the 1000 run mark. Those 35 runs will make SKY the only second-ever batter to score 1000 T20 international runs in a single calendar year.
Suryakumar Yadav, along with Virat Kohli, has been carrying the weight of the entire batting unit in this T20 World Cup. The openers have failed miserably, and the duo of Yadav and Kohli have managed to perform above average till now. But moving ahead, the entire batting unit has to fire in the semi-finals. The big match is just days away, and the fans hope that Surya continues his blistering form.
