‘Rohit Sharma brilliantly soaked the pressure’ says Shastri

Mahela Jayawardene - Rohit Sharma - Mumbai Indians

Rohit Sharma played a wonderful knock of 65 runs against Delhi Capitals which helped Mumbai to register their first win. The pitch in Delhi was a pretty tricky one. Only the settled batsman was able to make runs. Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl first. Delhi scored 172 runs their captain and vice-captain scored half-centuries. The openers of Mumbai gave them a perfect start to chase. Ravi Shastri speaks on Rohit Sharma’s innings.

Ravi Shastri on Rohit Sharma

“Rohit Sharma brilliantly soaked the pressure against Delhi. He led the side from the front and this match-winning performance will do him, as well as Mumbai Indians, a world of good,” said Ravi Shastri

Sunil Gavaskar said that

“I am hoping MS Dhoni promotes himself higher in the batting order. So that he gets to play more than two or three overs in the games. He can make that difference for CSK with his batting because he is capable of scoring big runs,”

He further added on Rohit Sharma and his team that

“This win will give MI a lot of confidence going forward into the tournament.”

This tournament started with the home teams winning the matches. But the trend has completely changed in the last four matches the home team did not win the match. Rohit Sharma with his team will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Sunday afternoon match. Mumbai Indians played only one match in Mumbai this season. They are in the 7th position in the points table of Indian Premier League 23.
