Former India keeper and player, Saba Karim recently said that with the appointment of Rahul Dravid as head coach, the selection process in Team India has smoothened.

Rahul Dravid took over as head coach from Ravi Shastri last year for India’s home series against New Zealand.

Karim also stated that every captain and coach needs to have a team that has consistency in performance.

He also added that both Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid share the same thought process.

Karim also commented on Ishan Kishan’s selection and said that if selectors start dropping players based on one rough patch, then no player will feel secure.

BCCI selectors have also picked up youngsters Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh.

Karim said that if the selectors pick the team unilaterally, then it is difficult to have a conducive environment.

He said that every player must have the opportunity to play freely.

This can only be possible when both captain and coach take part in the selection process.
