In his first #AskSachin Q&A session on Twitter, former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar revealed the message he shared with Virat Kohli during the ICC ODI World Cup final in 2011. It is worth noting that India was chasing 275 runs at the Wankhede Stadium against Sri Lanka and lost two quick wickets of Virender Sehwag and Tendulkar. While Tendulkar was walking back to the pavilion, he was seen sharing something with Kohli, which he eventually revealed on April 21, 2023, 12 years after the incident.

Tendulkar stated on his Twitter handle that he informed Kohli that the ball was still swinging and advised him to play accordingly. Batting at number four, Tendulkar scored 35 runs off 49 deliveries, but he failed to capitalize on his start. On the other hand, Kohli laid the foundation for a historic win for the MS Dhoni-led side.

During the Q&A session, Sachin revealed that his message to Kohli was “Ab bhi ball thoda swing ho raha hai!” when he was asked about the incident. This advice proved to be vital as Kohli went on to score a crucial 35 runs off 49 balls. He played an important role in India’s victory in the World Cup final.
