Both Kohli and Ronaldo have been the prime athletes in their respective sports and have set a benchmark for young athletes to never stop working hard.
Salman Butt hails Kohli
Former Pakistani Opener Salman Butt has compared Virat Kohli with Christiano Ronaldo for his fitness standards. He has hailed Kohli for his fitness and called him a “fitness freak”.
“He’s no less than any Ronaldo. Among all the top fitness freaks sportsmen around the world, he stands right up there,” Butt said.
“I think Virat Kohli is back to his best, maybe back to his normal. He used to score plenty of runs and hundreds consistently. This is the absolute way of playing ODI. You make a steady start, play ball-by-ball, put away bad balls and score run on good deliveries. Once fully set, he was consistently able to hit it over the boundary easily. There was a low-risk factor. This shows how much control he has over the game when he is on the song,” Butt added.
Virat put on a batting masterclass on Sunday in Thiruvananthapuram as he scored a flawless century in the third ODI against Sri Lanka. Kohli remained not out on 166 off 110 balls as he broke many records in that game. Virat became the fifth-highest run scorer in the ODI format and surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of maximum centuries at home (21).
