Hardik Pandya has become quite the star now that he has led Gujarat Titans to their first-ever victory.
All former India cricketers are praising Pandya for his excellent captaincy in IPL 2022.
In this list is former India player Sanjay Manjrekar who saw some glimpses of MS Dhoni in Hardik Pandya’s captaincy.
Manjrekar commented that Pandya’s field placements and change in bowlers were just the same as MS Dhoni’s.
He further said that R Sai Kishore bowled the important overs 16th and 18th for the team which fell in favour of Gujarat.
Pandya himself returned the best figures in his IPL career of 3/17 and also smashed a quickfire 34 off 30 deliveries which took the Titans to lift the IPL trophy for the first time.
Manjrekar further commented that Pandya looked very relaxed as captain and was seen enjoying the new responsibility as well.
Pandya also made all the decisions accurately while studying the match situations.
Hardik has now won 5 IPL titles and is one short of Rohit Sharma who has 6 IPL titles under his belt.
MS Dhoni has 4 IPL titles as the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings.
