As per recent reports, Kerala middle-order batsman, Sanju Samson has found his place in upcoming India vs Sri Lanka T20I series.

Samson last played a T20I for India in 2021, has been picked in place of KL Rahul.

India will also not have Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant in the T20I series as they have been rested. They both, however, will make a return to the Test team.

Thus, Samson has a clear path to make his way into the playing XI of India.

While Shardul Thakur will also have a breather from this series, India are welcoming back senior spinner Ravindra Jadeja to the squad. Jadeja’s last match for India was against New Zealand last year in November at Kanpur.

But he suffered an injury and did not go for the South Africa tour.

Jasprit Bumrah returns to the squad and will be India’s vice-captain in this series. Washington Sundar is also recovering from his hamstring injury.

Sri Lanka will come to India after they finish their assignment against Australia.
