Shivam Dube credits protein for power-hitting knock against RCB

Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the IPL 2023 match between RCB and CSK on April 17 was an enthralling contest. CSK posted a massive total of 226/6 in the first innings, with Conway scoring a rapid 83 off 45 and Rahane and Shivam Dube also contributing with half-centuries.

Dube’s innings was particularly impressive as he smashed two fours and five sixes. He showed great power and skill as he sent the ball sailing into the stands, with two of his sixes hitting the roof of the stadium and one traveling an impressive distance of 111 meters.

“Since childhood, I have had this power. My dad has given me enough protein because he knows what is needed at this level,”

Dube said.

NOT EASY TO STOP ME WHEN I’M GOING: SHIVAM DUBE

When the mega-auction was held in 2022, CSK spent INR 4 crore to acquire the services of Shivam Dube. He has since repaid the management’s trust by playing some remarkable innings. Dube had previously scored his first IPL fifty at the same venue, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

“It was amazing for me, playing at this stadium, on this wicket and in front of this crowd. I mentioned it before that I back my strengths and that was what was needed today. Definitely, I believe it is not easy to stop me when I get going, that’s what I believe and the team believes. The size of the ground and the wicket was good, and the freedom I got was something I enjoyed,”

Dube added.

RCB lost the key wicket of Kohli early on in their chase, but du Plessis and Maxwell’s partnership provided hope. RCB needed 36 runs off 20 balls with six wickets remaining, but Karthik and Ahmed fell short. Deshpande took 3/45 in four overs, and Conway was named Player of the Match.
