Mohammad Kaif heaped praise on Indian middle-order batter, Shreyas Iyer. He compared his batting technique to that of MS Dhoni.
Shreyas Iyer has been in and out of the team for a while now. However, his recent spree of runs could help cement his position on the team. His records are quite impressive across all three formats. He recently scored 86 runs in the recently concluded first test match against Bangladesh. Iyer built a 149-run partnership with Pujara that helped India post a total of 404 runs.
Former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif is highly impressed with the youngster. Speaking to Sony Sports after the match, he compared Shreyas Iyer’s batting technique to that of MS Dhoni. Kaif also acknowledged Iyer’s weakness against short balls but otherwise, the batter is in exceptional form this year and is praiseworthy.

Mohammad Kaif compared Shreyas Iyer to Dhoni. He said that Iyer has the same class to that as Dhoni and knows how to make runs.
“We always talk about Dhoni that he doesn’t look good but score runs and wins matches. Shreyas Iyer also has the same class, he knows how to make runs. There is a weakness, gets out while playing the pull shot but despite that, he has a good record in 2022,”
Kaif further added that Shreyas Iyer is in good form and has all the shots in the book. He said that other than the bouncers, Shreyas Iyer is flawless and should be applauded.
“He is in good form and scoring in every match. It is a big thing to score in the first innings. India got the big lead because of his innings. He plays good drives and uses his feet as well, he is a complete batter. He has issues against the bouncer but every batter has some or other weakness. It will remain throughout his life, he will have to deal with it always, but what he has done is praiseworthy,”
