Kolkata Knight Riders and India middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer is all set for his new role at his new franchise.
He revealed that he has been in constant touch with coaches and management about the path the team will be taking in the new season of the tournament.
Shreyas told in the interview that he has always seen KKR as an aggressive side when batting against them.
KKR bowlers give their whole soul into the game and try to push all teams to the backfoot.
Thus, Shreyas wants the same aggressive mentality when he leads the team throughout the season and does not want any regrets when they go out into the field.
He also revealed that as he himself is an aggressive player, he can marshal his troops confidently and steer them towards as many wins as they can in this year’s IPL.
KKR had a solid opening pair last season with Shubhman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer firing all guns blazing.
Shreyas has had a talk with Venkatesh Iyer and the latter has said that he is comfortable with whatever position he’s given in the team.
Previously, Alex Hales was scheduled to play as an opener for KKR but he pulled out and thus, Venkatesh’s place is safe at the top.
Shreyas himself is comfortable with any position on the team but with Nitish Rana in the playing XI, he may not have his coveted batting position at No.3.
He revealed in the interview that his personal favourite batting position is No.3 but he will happily bat at any position.
