Since Shubman Gill started batting as an opener in the last two years, his strike rate has been under the radar.

Gill’s strike rate in the IPL is only 118.45 which is very low considering he’s an opener.

But, Gill recently dismissed all debates regarding his batting and strike rate and is excited to be a part of Gujarat Titans.

He said that he will repay the faith put in him by playing to the best of his ability.

Gill is also happy to be working with Gary Kirsten from whom he will try to pick up some new tricks in batting.

He also revealed that as a batsman you need to keep on changing your tactics so that the bowlers don’t plan against you easily.

If a batsman plays with the same mindset and tactics, he can become an easy target for the bowlers.

In 2019, Gill’s position was constantly being changed by the Kolkata Knight Riders as he was sometimes opener and at other times, a No.7 batsman.

Gill also talked of Ashish Nehra and Hardik Pandya who are also a part of the franchise.

Gill will also try to play better so as to make a spot for himself in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

He has so far represented India only in Tests and ODIs.
