SKY becomes the fastest batsman to get to 1500 runs in T20Is

Suryakumar Yadav

India’s swashbuckling batsman, Suryakumar Yadav once again gave India a wonderful victory in the third T20I.

His 112* from 51 balls helped India post a massive total of 228/5 on the board while Sri Lanka were skittled for a mere 137.

Not only did Suryakumar hit a century in that match, his name once again reached the record books once more.

Yadav is now the fastest player to reach 1500 runs in T20I cricket in terms of balls taken.

He managed to reach this target in 843 balls. If we talk about the number of innings taken to reach this milestone, then SKY is third on this list.

Surya has taken 43 innings to reach 1500 runs in T20Is while other batters like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Aaron Finch, and Babar Azam have taken 39 innings each to achieve this milestone.

Surya is now also the fastest batter to reach 1500 runs with a strike rate of 150 or more

Additionally, SKY has created another record for himself through this match. He is now the fastest batter to reach 1500 runs in T20Is with a strike rate of 150 or more.

Also, Yadav is now the second-fastest Indian to hit a hundred in T20Is taking only 45 balls. The fastest one still rests with skipper Rohit Sharma who in 2017 notched up a ton in only 35 balls and this was also against Sri Lanka.

Says Surya on his practice and preparation,

It’s really important to put pressure on yourself when you are preparing for a game. If you do that in practice, it gets a little easier while playing the game. There is a lot of hard work involved but it’s about doing quality practice sessions. You should know what your game is and prepare accordingly. Boundaries behind are like 50-60 metres, so I was targeting them. There are some shots that are pre-determined but you need to have other shots too so that if the bowler changes his plan, you can have an answer. He (Dravid) just lets me enjoy myself. He tells me to just enjoy and express myself.
