Match Preview

SL vs NED: Group A will be back in action for the ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2022 qualifiers. The first game will be held between Sri Lanka and Netherlands. The fixture will be played at Kardinia Park in Geelong on 20th October 2022.

Sri Lanka is in a dismay. They received a heartbreaking defeat from Namibia by a massive margin of 55 runs. And, to add to the misery, two-star Sri Lankan pacers Dilshan Madushanka and Dushmantha Chameera have been officially ruled out of the tournament owing to injury concerns. Also, Danushka Gunathilaka and Pramod Madushan are further doubtful owing to hamstring concerns. The Asian Champions will fail to qualify for the main event of the ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2022 if they lose one more game.

The Netherlands, on the other hand, is the biggest surprise in this tournament. They have managed to win 2 successive games and are placed right at the top of the group table. The only concern for them is the low net run rate. Hence, they need to win this fixture to earn a spot in the Super 12 groups.

Match Predictions for SL vs NED

The fixture is a must-win game for both teams. Things are difficult for Sri Lanka as they will miss a few key names in the playing XI. They need to pull off the rabbit out of the hat to qualify from this group. Meanwhile, the Netherlands is confident after successive wins. Hence, the Netherlands is the probable winner of this game.
