Sri Lankan players to join their respective franchises today

Sri Lankan players Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana will join IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings today and will be available for their next clash.

Moreover, Chennai Super Kings will play against the Rajasthan Royals at Chennai on 12th April, Wednesday.

Furthermore, both these bowlers have just finished their international assignment against New Zealand wherein the BlackCaps won the T20I series 2-1.

While Pathirana didn’t play any of the three T20Is against the Kiwis, Theekshana played all and returned with figures of 1/22, 0/18, and 1/22. Furthermore, he was quite impressive in the first T20I wherein he curtailed the Kiwis to just 8 runs in the Super Over.

Additionally, both these bowlers made their IPL debut last year for CSK and took 12 and 2 wickets respectively.

Gujarat Titans sign up Dasun Shanaka; Wanindu to join RCB today

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans have signed up, Sri Lanka skipper, Dasun Shanaka as a replacement for the injured Kane Williamson.

In the December auction, Shanaka went unsold but he is a very formidable allrounder.

Additionally, in T20s, he has scored 3724 runs with a strike rate of 141.92 in 183 games. Moreover, he has 59 wickets and an economy of 8.81.

Furthermore, this is going to be his first-ever IPL season with the Titans.

Moreover, Wanindu Hasaranga is also going to join the Royal Challengers Bangalore today along with Shanaka.

Hasaranga made his IPL debut in 2021 for RCB. Last season, he took 26 wickets in 16 matches and had a brilliant economy of 7.54.

Moreover, he was also the second-leading wicket-taker in last year’s IPL for RCB.

Additionally, he also got a four-for and fifer last season for RCB. Meanwhile, the only other Sri Lankan playing the IPL at this moment is Bhanuka Rajapaksa and he is representing Punjab Kings.
