Sunil Gavaskar blasts team India for dropping Kuldeep Yadav in 2nd test

Former Indian cricketer turned commentator, Sunil Gavaskar grilled team India for their decision to bench Kuldeep Yadav in the second test match against Bangladesh.

Indian mystery “chinaman” spinner, Kuldeep Yadav made a stunning comeback into the Indian cricket team in the first test match against Bangladesh. Kuldeep claimed a fifer in the second innings and took 8 wickets in total. His economy stayed below 4 in both innings. As a result, Kuldeep was awarded Man of the match for his staggering performance.

However, tables turned in the second test. The Indian team, led by KL Rahul, decided to drop Kuldeep Yadav and chose to go ahead with Jaydev Unadkat. The pacer marked his return to the team after a span of 12 years, and hence, the team decided to give him a chance. However, fans and critics are puzzled and irked by this decision, and have criticized the team for the same.

“I want to use harsh words,” Gavaskar on Kuldeep Yadav’s omission from playing XI

The member of the commentary panel for the test match, Sunil Gavaskar spoke on Sony Sports ahead of the game. He blasted Indian team management for dropping Kuldeep Yadav. He said that if the team wanted to drop a spinner, they could have chosen between the other two presents in the team. Gavaskar further added that dropping the man of the match from the previous game is absolutely unbelievable.

“To drop a Man of the Match is absolutely unbelievable…and unbelievable is a very gentle word. I want to use more harsh words. You drop a player who picked eight out of 20 wickets in the last game and have two other spinners. One of those two should have been dropped and he should have played no matter what,”

Furthermore, Kuldeep Yadav was seen having a deep conversation with Indian head coach, Rahul Dravid before the start of the match. Dravid could visibly seen providing an explanation to the spinner. Moreover, Jaydev Unadkat impressed too by taking 2 crucial wickets.
