As India prepare to face South Africa in 8 days’ time, former India batting legend Sunil Gavaskar had his say.
Gavaskar feels that if India slots in Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant at No.5 and No.6, then they can be the most explosive pair for the team.
He also said that both of them have the ability to add 100-120 runs in just six overs.
So, if Pandya and Pant come in at overs 14th to 20th, then India can be sure of a win against the Proteas in the 5-match T20I series.
Hardik Pandya has been in great form this year. He became captain of a new franchise and guided them successfully to their maiden title.
Pandya has scored 487 runs at 44.27. Pant is always the first-choice wicketkeeper for India and captained Delhi Capitals well this season.
Pant has 340 runs at a strike rate of 151.79 in this year’s IPL.
Thus, Gavaskar feels that India should definitely put in both the players if they want to dominate the series.
He even looks forward to the prospect and feels that it will be exciting to watch these two players in action for India.
