With Pakistan now almost at the finish line of the T20 World Cup, there are a lot of memes circulating on social media.

The finalists of both tournaments are the same that is England and Pakistan. In 1992, Imran Khan captained his side well and as a result, Pakistan won the trophy.

This time, it is Babar Azam who is captaining the side.

Former India skipper, Sunil Gavaskar said that Babar Azam will become Pakistan’s Prime Minister in 2048 if his team wins the T20 World Cup.

This comment left both Michael Atherton and Shane Watson in splits and everyone enjoyed a hearty laugh together.

You know what, if Pakistan do win the World Cup, in 2048 Babar Azam would be the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

During the 1992 and now the 2022 World Cups, Pakistan was on the verge of exiting from the tournament.

But, both times the side made remarkable turnarounds to come out as finalists of the tournament.

When asked in a pre-match press conference about the similarities between the two campaigns, Babar did not flinch.

Of course, the similarities are there. We will try to win the trophy, it is a big honour for me to lead this team and especially at this big ground. We will try to give our 100 per cent and win. We did not start well, but the way team came back, they fought like tigers. We will look to continue from here and we will look to give our best.

Additionally, in both tournaments, Pakistan faced losses at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. And India defeated Pakistan both times.

Moreover, in both tournaments, Pakistan managed to get into the semi-finals by just a single point.
