Superstar Surya powers India to yet another series win

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav has been beyond supreme since the last year. The batter powered India to yet another series win, as India had their first series at home under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.

Surya Masterclass

Suryakumar scored 112 not out off 51 balls as Sri Lankan bowlers were clueless against his masterclass. The super wrists, improvisation and innovation, and finding gaps at will was the highlight of the innings. None of the Lankan bowlers had any answer to the Surya assault as kept toying the field playing shots all across the ground. His fiery innings propelled India to a respectable total of 228 for 5. Axar yet again played a handy cameo with the bat. The fearless number 3 in form of Rahul Tripathi had a short but entertaining stay at the crease as scored 16-ball 35 runs taking the spinners to the cleaners.

The job was easy for the bowlers as they had many runs to play with. Sri Lankan openers had a start as the opening partnership flourished for 44 runs. Axar Patel was economical, and Arshdeep was wicket-taking and threatening. Chahal finally had a good outing with the ball as he picked up two crucial wickets giving away 30 runs.

Hardik Pandya was excellent with the new ball as kept swinging the ball both ways. He nearly got a wicket first ball as the batter was trapped lbw but the review overturned the decision in the favor of the batter. But his new ball bowling was a big positive for India this series. Umran Malik was breathing fire with the ball as he ended the match with figures of 2-31. Extras were again a concern for India as they bowled a no-ball and 11 wides, including 4 from Arshdeep.

India win the series 2-1 under a new team and completely dominated the opposition in the series decider. India won the match by 91 runs in the end.
