India’s Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar will not form part of the Indian squad for the Sri Lanka T20I series.

After suffering on-field injuries in the 3rd T20I against West Indies, both will now undergo rehabilitation at the NCA in Bengaluru.

BCCI did not announce any replacements for both of them.

Deepak Chahar had dismissed both West Indies openers in his first over.

But when he was about to complete his second over, he suddenly pulled his right quadriceps and was in much pain thereafter.

Suryakumar Yadav played a fine knock of 65 off 31 balls.

Yadav was also the Player of the Series in the tour.

He, however, suffered a hairline fracture in his hand after batting in the first innings.

Venkatesh Iyer bowled the remaining over of Chahar.

India now have a 16-member squad with them for all three matches.

The return of Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah has been a much welcome respite for the Indian team.

India does have a lot of seam bowling options in the absence of Chahar.

Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant are currently resting and will come back for the Test matches against Sri Lanka.

Samson might replace Suryakumar Yadav in the T20I matches.

India will look to find a balanced side before the start of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia this year.
