Suryakumar Yadav feels lucky alongside Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

Suryakumar Yadav

India’s explosive batter, Suryakumar Yadav has recently praised both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

He feels lucky to be playing alongside such legends and hopes to achieve similar records as they have.

Suryakumar is a constant part of India’s white-ball cricket setup and has been doing very well for himself since making his debut in 2021.

He also shares a very close and cordial bond with both Rohit and Kohli as he has played under the leadership of both.

With Rohit, SKY shares a long relationship. Since his entry into the Mumbai Indians, he and Rohit have become an inseparable pair.

That is why before the IPL mini-auction this year, Mumbai Indians decided to retain Surya.

And with Kohli, SKY has been having a great time since the build-up to the T20 World Cup this year and then throughout the tournament.

Surya’s comments on both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

I am actually very lucky that I share dressing room with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. They are a different breed of international cricketers. Things they have achieved, I don’t know I will ever be able to achieve that.

For the 2023 World Cup, Surya will be a key element in India’s squad and will look to deliver some match-winning performances for the team.

Surya terms Rohit as an elder brother to him

Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav have played multiple times with each other during their time with the Mumbai Indians.

They have won many titles together and Rohit was the one who recommended SKY as a batter to watch out for.

Says Surya,

Recently, I have had some good partnerships with Virat bhai and I have enjoyed batting with him. Rohit is like an elder brother and my sounding board. When I am in doubt, I ask him direct questions about my game. He has been a good guiding force since I joined MI in 2018.

Currently, Surya is the No.1 batter in T20Is for India.
