Suryakumar Yadav now eyeing a big record in T20Is

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav has now become the record-breaking man for India when it comes to T20Is.

After his wonderful performance against Sri Lanka in the T20I series decider at home, Surya is now eyeing a big record.

SKY is now inching closer to an all-time MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings milestone.

Recently, the ICC updated their charts for the same and Surya has now extended his lead from 883 points to a massive 908 points and continues to remain at the top.

In the second T20I, Surya notched up 51 runs from 36 balls and then followed it up with a wonderful hundred- his third in the last six months.

During his 112* off 51 balls, Surya smashed seven fours and nine sixes and played in all parts of the ground.

That’s why he is the 360-man for India just like AB de Villiers was for South Africa.

Additionally, Surya became the Player of the Match in the series after India defeated Sri Lanka by 91 runs.

Surya is just seven rating points behind England’s Dawid Malan

After his scintillating batting performances, Surya has been placed second in the all-time T20I batting rankings list.

He is now seven points away from England’s Dawid Malan who currently has 915 rating points.

Moreover, while SKY was fifth on the list previously, he has now gone past Babar Azam, Virat Kohli, and Aaron Finch.

Surya made his debut for India after he crossed the age of 30. But, now there’s no stopping him as he continues to break one record after another.

In just 45 T20Is, Surya has amassed 1578 runs at a massive strike rate of 180.34 which is the highest for any batter with more than 250 T20I runs.

Surya had a great T20 World Cup 2022

Additionally, Surya also enjoyed his T20 World Cup outing in Australia where he finished as the third-highest run-getter in the tournament.

All of his three half-centuries against South Africa, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands proved to be the guiding force for India to win these matches.

Now, SKY does not have to wait long to go past Malan as he has another home series in hand.

Later this month, New Zealand is due to tour India for a three-match ODI and T20I series.

The first T20I is going to be played at Ranchi and some good batting against the Kiwis will allow Surya to break more records.
