Suryakumar Yadav has indeed been the fresh air for Indian team. Since a long time, India was searching for a perfect No. 4 batter. Suryakumar undoubtedly has filled the spot for India. Sky has proved his spot with 5 half centuries and a yon in the 34 T-20Is he played. However the century came on a loosing cause! But 69 runs he smashed against Australia in the series decider at Hyderabad was indeed incredible.

Suryakumar has been compared frequently with the South African legend AB de Villiers- naming SKY as the Indian Mr. 360°. Surya’s form right now is undoubtedly the biggest plus point in Indian camp.

And the Pakistan former player Misbah-ul-Haque supported the view. According to him, Suryakumar has shown his capabilities. He will make his team more confident ahead of the T-20 WC.

The role of the top order has changed as well due to Suryakumar: Misbah

Misbah told A-Sports,

“Suryakumar Yadav ke aa jaane se mujhe lagta hai unki batting strength badhi hai. (After Suryakumar Yadav’s inclusion, India’s batting strength has increased). The range he has and the kind of shots he plays against any bowler – he had all types of shots – and because of this, the role of the top order has changed as well. Then there is Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik who play the finisher’s role.”

Misbah moreover praised Indian experiments in the batting approach. He believes, that the aggressive batting approach has given the team positive results compared to what they did in the last WC.

He pointed out,

“Overall, you can see that after last year’s World Cup they have decided to change their approach. Earlier they had a strategy like the current Pakistan team. But now they have taken an England-like policy – which is to just go after the bowling. They score the maximum runs in the Powerplay and according to that, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have adapted. Even Virat Kohli, who used to take time earlier, comes and starts attacking.”
