Team India begin preparations with first training session at WACA

The Indian contingent has arrived in Australia and have started their training sessions at Perth’s iconic WACA Stadium.

The T20I side left yesterday after completing a home series against the Proteas where they won 2-1. They are now all set and ready for the mega event.

The BCCI shared a picture of the Indian players in Australia gearing up for their first practice session.

Unlike other teams, India will not be playing any competitive cricket in the next weeks.

Therefore, they will be playing two practice matches against Western Australia on the 10th and 13th of October in Perth.

In the pre-tournament matches, India will take on Australia and New Zealand at the Gabba in Brisbane before their Super 12 opener against Pakistan on the 23rd of October at MCG.

BCCI and Rohit Sharma will soon take a decision on Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement now that the team has reached Australia.

India have so far only 14 members in their squad but they are looking upbeat and all smiles as they cut a specially designed T20 World Cup cake in Mumbai.

BCCI has also shared a group photo of the players and support staff before their departure to Australia.

India are going into the ICC T20 World Cup on the backs of two T20I home series wins against Australia and South Africa recently.

Rohit Sharma & Co. have finally put their disappointment of the early Asia Cup exit by bouncing back strongly in these two home series.

The T20 World Cup is all set to start on the 16th of October in Australia.
