The man of the hour, Ruturaj Gaikwad, sent out a piece of advice to Shiva Singh whom he smashed 7 sixes in a single over in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Ruturaj Gaikwad is on a rampage in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022. The Pune-born batter scored a magnificent double hundred against Uttar Pradesh in the quarter-final of the tournament. Moreover, Ruturaj scored yet another mammoth innings of 168 runs in the semi-final against Assam.

However, Ruturaj Gaikwad managed to grab the eyeballs of the entire cricket fraternity by achieving a rare feat. Gaikwad destroyed Uttar Pradesh’s Shiva Singh by smashing him for 7 sixes in an over. Shiva got hit for 6 sixes in 6 legal deliveries, and he bowled one no-ball that went for a maximum as well. Fans are going gaga over Ruturaj’s extraordinary form.

“I had crossed 150 and didn’t even raise the bat,” Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad sat down for a chat before the big finale against Saurashtra. He recalled his knockout games and said that he was not at all disappointed in missing out on a double hundred against Assam. Ruturaj Gaikwad even rated his inning against Uttar Pradesh higher than the one against Assam.

“No disrespect to Assam bowlers but UP was a far better and all-round attack. And we had lost two early wickets and it was my first comeback game after the injury and our first knockout game. So there was much more pressure so I would rate the innings against UP higher,”

“I wasn’t disappointed at all. In fact, I was in such a zone that I didn’t even realize I had crossed 150 and didn’t even raise the bat. So missing out on a double hundred is not a big deal at all”

A heartwarming message to Shiva Singh

Ruturaj Gaikwad further went on to address Shiva Singh, who got hit for 7 sixes on an over. He said that Singh will be dejected, which is understandable, but one should never lose hope. Ruturaj even gave the example of Stuart Broad, who got hit for 6 sixes by Yuvraj Singh.

“He must have been understandably dejected, but all I would like to remind him is to remember Stuart Broad went for six sixes in an over and has had an outstanding career. So there’s a lesson in it for every bowler,”
