Tom Moody praises Suryakumar Yadav; compares him to Viv Richards

Suryakumar Yadav

Tom Moody, Australia’s former cricketer, has showered huge praises on India batter Suryakumar Yadav.

Recently, Surya has been in top form for India in T20Is with some breathtaking performances.

Because of this, he has earned a comparison from Moody who now says Surya’s style is just like West Indies’ great Sir Vivian Richards.

In the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, Surya hit scores of 51 and 112*. He is now known as someone who can pulverize any opposition with the bat.

Moreover, Surya has the ability to hit the ball to all parts of the park and has earned the title of Mr 360.

Says Moody on Surya,

Suryakumar Yadav, just the way he plays, it’s breathtaking. It reminds me so much of… when I was a young cricketer, watching the likes of Vivian Richards. The player who just seems to be in control of the game single-handedly.

During 2022, Surya became India’s top scorer as he made 1164 runs in 31 games and is now on top once again in 2023 with a century and half-century.
